I actually bought this book off of Pete Martin's jazz mandolin website, and not , but it is excellent! As for edition-No book with significant graphic content are going to work very well with , and in my opinion this one shouldn't even be offered in that format.
As for the book, it is an excellent resource for anyone trying to figure out mandolin chord voicings for jazz, and it works progressively through basic early jazz through swing and eventually to bop in a very logical way. Once you complete this course as designed and if you have some taste, which no book can provide, you should be able to comp jazz on mandolin.
